- IMPROVING QUALITY OF LIFE IN SICK WITH OSTEOSARCOMA - GUGA – Dog, Female, Age: 11 years, Breed: Miniature Schnauzer -

Osteosarcoma of the Right Forelimb was diagnosed to Guga in a Veterinary Clinic and its owners did not intend to do neither surgery nor did they wanted Guga to be subjected to chemotherapy, since "the cancer was already too advanced" and there was no "sure these treatments come to be effective", according to the opinion of the owners.
During the 1st session of Acupuncture the animal showed up with several pain in the affected limb, inclusive even limp, had very pronounced inappetence / loss of appetite and was very weakened.
Needling was made from selected points and moxibustion was also made of an acupoint in treatment sessions lasting about 20 minutes.
There were 2 initial sessions in the 1st week of treatment, then became weekly sessions for about 2 months.
In total 10 sections were made within 2 months.

Soon after the 1st session could see an improvement in the general state of Guga, being more energetic, and appearing to have less pain in the foot, not so much to touch, but limping less, but still continued to have lack of appetite.
After the 3rd session Guga had little pain to the touch in the affected limb and have hardly limped, and already ate with appetite.
At the end of the 1st month of treatment and by the end of treatment Guga was starting to limp a bit more, though always remained without pain to the touch in the paw affected, and lost some appetite although she always ate all the dose of feed she was given.
After another month there were detected lung metastases and the owners of Guga opted for euthanasia.
