Acupuncture Acupuncture is one more tool that the veterinarian has to maintain the health of their animals, and the Western and Oriental Medicine, now viewed as complementary therapies.
It is an ancient technique of Chinese origin and the Chinese made a well-organized and structured medical system out of acupuncture, which has been recognized by the WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION (WHO) in 1979. Earlier, in 1974, was created and regulated the INTERNATIONAL VETERINARY ACUPUNCTURE SOCIETY (IVAS) International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS).
