- CANINE UVEODERMATOLOGIC SYNDROME - RUCA – Dog, Male, Age: 3 months, Breed Poodle -

When Ruca reached the 1st session of Acupuncture showed up from 2 weeks prior to conjunctivitis, uveitis, depigmentation of the eyelids, bilateral otitis, meningitis and joint pain.
Ruca had a diagnosis of Canine Uveodermatologic Syndrome – autoimmune dermatitis, whose main symptoms are intraocular inflammation (uveitis), skin depigmentation, nose, lips, eyelids, vulva, scrotum, anus and pads and may show redness and erosions and crusts on the skin when exposed to sunlight, due to immune-mediated destruction of melanin or of tissues with melanin and may lead to retinal detachment and blindness.
Simple Acupuncture was made of selected points in treatment sessions lasting about 20 minutes.
There was 3 sessions on 1.5 weeks, followed by 1 session the following week, then made up 1 session after 2 weeks since the last session before and 1 past 4 weeks from the previous.
A total of six sessions were made at an interval of 2 months.

After the 1st session of Acupuncture, Ruca was better from the otitis and conjunctivitis, although it was not yet normal.
After the 4th session and by the end of treatment Ruca was fully recovered from the injuries, in particular it had the ears and eyes perfectly normal.
