- CAUDA EQUINA SYNDROME - VORTEX – Dog, Male, Age: 9, Breed German Shepherd -
Since about 2 months before presenting the 1st session of Acupuncture, Vortex limped occasionally and had a hind limb weakness.
Rx discovered a narrowing of the spinal canal L7-S1 level and was diagnosed with Cauda Equina Syndrome.
Simple Acupuncture and Moxibustion was made of selected points in treatment sessions lasting about 20 minutes.
There was 2 sessions with a weekly frequency, then became 1 session past 2 weeks, 1 session past three weeks, there was 1 session again after 2 weeks, then 1 session after 4 weeks and 1 last session spent 8 weeks from above.
In total 7 sessions were made at an interval of 4.5 months.
Soon after the 1st session of Acupuncture and until the end of treatment, Vortex was a lot better, with more "energy", with better mobility, he returned to go "up and down the stairs without being one-by-one", did not return limping and did not returned to "go down the hind legs", he no longer appeared to have hind limb weakness..
