- GERIATRIC VESTIBULAR SYNDROME - WILLY – Dog, Male, Age: 17, Breed Shihtzu -

After being diagnosed with Geriatric Vestibular Syndrome in a Veterinary Clinic, Willy, when it was seen for the 1st time, had loss of appetite, eating only when forced, not drinking water, had a general state of weakness, his movements were uncoordinated, had difficulty in maintaining balance, had the head position changed, as it diverted "fallen", without getting it up completely.
Acupuncture has been made in the selected points and moxibustion has been made in a specific acupoint.
The duration of each treatment was about 20 minutes.
Among the first three sessions there was a gap of 3/4 days, then moving to one session per week.
The sessions lasted 4 weeks.

After the first session we observed a decrease in the head tilt, although slightly, the animal is more balanced, and had more appetite, although it still not feed himself.
After the second treatment session the head continued to become less skewed, the animal had a better body condition, had already begun to eat alone, but still did not drink water (so it had to be injected saline subcutaneously).
In the following sessions and by the end of treatment all symptoms disappeared.
